Born in Kosovo he received a copy of Kruder and Dorfmeister’s DJ Kicks in 1996 which opened his soul to electronic music. He then discovered the real house scene once he landed in NYC where he would stay for over 10 years; he left no club unturned, no remote party un-explored and no speakers un-twitted. Needless to say that he is one of the figures of the Eastern European electronic scene. From Prague to Pristina, few have not heard about him and enjoyed his charismatic personality. Notorious event planner known to organize some of the best parties in New York and beyond, Genti has a deep passion not only for music but for bringing it to the masses. As a promoter he’s organised over 150 parties between NYC and Prishtina. In the winter of 2000, Genti, his brother Noki & Probus founded “Buyrum”, a promotional company that began renting loft spaces and various clubs, organizing boat parties, gigs at hotel penthouses and lounges throughout the city, with crowds who shared a love for music and a sense of belonging. In 2005, New York Times wrote a very favorable review on Buyrum parties. Now, its been 13 years of scary Halloween party’s & there is no stoping. In 2006 he went back to Kosova/Prishtina, brought the experience home and re-opened Spray Club with Bersant. In two years, Spray became world famous, booking over 60 International Dj’s a year. Dj Mag had a two page story that followed later.
As an artist, he’s shared turntables with the best and may we dare say sometimes has outplayed the best. He’s played alongside: Luciano, Lee Burridge, Nic Fanciulli, Naka, Audiofly, Funk D’void, Pascal Feos, Richard Dorfmeister, Livio & Roby, Lee Jones, Terje Bakke, Eddie Richards, Toton, Heidi, Italoboyz, Adultnapper, Dave Mothersole, Luke Fair, M.A.N.D.Y, FEX, Chaim, Andrea Oliva, Sonja Moonear, Timo Mass, Guti, Laura Jones, Loco Dice… His unique energy and musical taste has made him resident at Europe’s best underground club: Nordstern in Basel. He takes care of Y serious? in the Balkans.
